Hi everyone! My name is Donald Spring, and I’m the proud owner of St. Elmo Diesel Repair. I was born and raised in Effingham and moved to the St. Elmo area in 2008. My family and I now live in Vandalia.

I’ve been a diesel mechanic for over 15 years, and before that, I worked on everything from general auto repair to small engines. Diesel work has always been a passion of mine, and I take pride in providing honest, reliable service to our community. In April 2020, my wife and I took a big leap of faith and opened the doors to St. Elmo Diesel Repair- and this past April (2025), we celebrated 5 years in business!

My wife Skylar and I have been married for 9 years (celebrating our 10th anniversary on September 18), and we’re proud parents of two boys: Donavin (9) and Grayson (6). This business has truly been a family effort, and we’re so grateful for the support from our customers and community.

We’re also excited about what’s ahead! We recently purchased an additional 1.5 acres, and we’re planning to expand our shop by adding more bays to serve you better.
